ECG of October

Electrocardiogram of a 71-year old man with chronic stable angina.

Rate 67/min
PR 0.17s
QRS 0.09s
QT 0.40s
QTc 0.42s
QRS axis 60º

Interpretation: Regular sinus rhythm. Normal ECG.

In approximately half of patients with chronic, stable, effort-related angina, the resting electrocardiogram is normal. The extent of underlying coronary artery disease does not correlate well with resting ECG, although normal resting tracing is indicating a more favourable long-term prognosis.

More complex and interesting ECGs to come next month.
